The purpose of this webinar is to build on the didactic content covered in our earlier learning sessions on executive function and provide more opportunity to cover a case example, engage in discussion, and have ample time for Q&A. In each session, the host will provide a very brief overview of the prior covered content, have an in-depth discussion of one case example, and ample time for questions and open conversation related to the mental health of autistic students.

This 60-minute session is a case-based discussion covering the process of assessing readiness for college, accessing accommodations, and preparing youth with a history of psychosis to transition to college.

This webinar will give an overview of work being done by the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) and how they incorporate best practices in their work. Following the MCEC overview participants will hear about a specific MCEC program called the Purple Star Initiative and what Purple Star Schools do to support military-connected children and their families. Following these presentations, participants will hear about the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress (NCTSN) and how MCEC and NCTSN are working together to form multi-tiered supports to ensure Military and Veteran Children and receiving the supports that fit their individual needs.

In this webinar, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) will define and discuss what child labor exploitation looks like in the United States and the ways that schools can help address it. Experts from the DOL will present data on the types of cases they are seeing, including young people working inherently dangerous jobs. Educators and school staff can be the first adults to be concerned about a youth being exploited in a work situation, so the webinar will highlight what roles schools have in identifying and intervening to get students out of dangerous situations. The webinar will also include a panel discussion to better understand the experiences of youth who have been exploited in a work environment and feature an expert with lived experience and experts working directly with youth in schools. The webinar will end with a live Q&A to respond to questions related to child labor exploitation and how schools can play a role in addressing it.

In this webinar, subject matter experts will talk about what cyberbullying and harassment can look like, the prevalence of the problem, and the impacts these experiences have on young people’s physical and mental health. They will explore recommendations for what schools and other adults and peers can do to prevent cyberbullying and harassment and support young people who are experiencing it. They will also discuss digital citizenship and digital wellness as intervention frameworks that may help stop students from engaging in online bullying and harassment and support those students who are experiencing it.

In this webinar, CDC speaker Susan Hocevar Adkins, MD, will discuss the benefits of establishing and maintaining public health and educational agency partnerships. The speaker will also highlight emergency preparedness planning with schools, the intersection between public health and schools, and the logistics of working with schools to improve community preparedness.

Through the event, attendees will hear from government, private sector, and community leaders in the field, who will speak about current and critical school safety issues, threats, and solutions.

In this virtual training event, NTAC researchers highlight the key findings and implications from their research on school violence prevention. In this training, you will learn about the background, thinking, and behavior of school attackers and how some schools discovered and stopped plots before violence occurred. This training will provide guidance on how schools may develop or improve existing violence prevention programs utilizing a behavioral threat assessment model.
