State Board of Education

The Maine Department of Education, in collaboration with educators, schools, districts and communities Statewide, strives to provide all Maine students access to educational experiences, PreK through adult, that lead to their success in life and career.

Facilities & Construction

The Maine Department of Education's Office of School Facilities and Transportation works to ensure that all Maine students have access to healthy, safe, and educationally appropriate facilities.


School Preparedness

Maine Emergency Management Agency

The Maine Emergency Management Agency houses school preparedness resources. School preparedness has two facets, emergency planning for the school site itself, and educating school staff and students about hazards and emergency planning.

The Maine School Safety Center, a division of the Office of School and Student Supports, works to deliver high quality, up-to-date best practices, procedures, training, and technical assistance and support to Maine Schools.
