Oregon Department of Education
The Oregon Department of Education oversees the education of over 560,000 students in Oregon’s public K-12 education system.
School Safety and Emergency Management
The Oregon Department of Education’s School Safety and Emergency Management program supports the development and implementation of emergency operations plans in schools across the state to help improve the safety and security for all students and staff.
School Discipline, Restraint and Seclusion
The Oregon Department of Education’s School Discipline, Bullying, Restraint and Seclusion section offers guidance and best practices on discipline, restraint & seclusion, and bullying.

SafeOregon is a program created for Oregon students, parents, school staff, community members and law enforcement officers to report and respond to student safety threats.

School Safety and Prevention System
The School Safety and Prevention program provides assistance to school districts and education service districts to decrease acts of Harassment, Cyberbullying, Intimidation or Bullying and Sexual Violence, decreasing youth suicidal behavior including Suicide Prevention, Intervention, Postvention, implementing a multidisciplinary Behavior Safety (threat) Assessment system to identify and assess situations that may pose a potential risk for violence to others, and the promotion and use of the statewide school safety tip line, SafeOregon. The System is supported by School Safety and Prevention Specialists who serve regions throughout the state.
