This report provides an overview to parents, teachers, and health practitioners on the role of adverse childhood responses in substance use and related behavioral health problems.

This suite of trainings provides educators, school staff, and mental health professionals with educational programs on child sexual development, mandated reporting of child abuse, healthy relationships, cyber safety and digital citizenship, and sexual misconduct in schools.

This guidance provides the public, including states, schools, and school systems, with information about addressing mental health and substance use issues in schools.

These technical packages were developed to help states and communities take advantage of the best available evidence to prevent or reduce violence. Each package is intended as a resource to guide and inform prevention decision-making and include topics such as preventing Adverse Child Experiences, child abuse and neglect, suicide, youth violence, sexual violence, and intimate partner violence. Project iGuardian is focused on keeping children and teens safe from online predators through education and awareness. The project is an outreach effort to share information about the dangers of online environments, how to stay safe online, and how to report abuse and suspicious activity.

This program offers 24/7 call, text and chat access to trained crisis counselors who can help people experiencing suicidal, substance use, and/or mental health crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. The corresponding webpage provides additional resources and information for strengthening suicide prevention and mental health crisis services.

This campaign aims to reduce underage drinking and other substance use among youths under the age of 21 by providing parents, caregivers, educators, and community members with information and resources they need to address these issues with children.

For many students, the COVID-19 pandemic is compounding traumatic experiences for diverse reasons, such as potential increased incidents of neglect, abuse, and isolation. 

Due to school closings as a result of COVID-19, children will potentially have an increased online presence and/or be in a position that puts them at an inadvertent risk. Due to this newly developing environment, the FBI is seeking to warn parents, educators, caregivers, and children about the dangers of online sexual exploitation and signs of child abuse.
